COR-TEN Steel Railing

COR-TEN steel (weathering steel), is a group of steel alloys which were developed to eliminate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. Weathering steel is popularly used in outdoor sculptures, and as exterior facades, for its rustic antique appearance. It is also widely used in marine environments due to its appearance and durability with little maintainence.

This project is located at a residence in San Francisco, California (an environment high in moisture and salt). COR-TEN is the perfect material to construct a stylish railing that can hold up to the seaside weather. Building a rail out of COR-TEN is no more time consuming than mild steel, but the materials (steel, welding wire) required to build are significantly more expensive that mild steel.

Stainless Steel Bird Cage

We've done a vast array of custom animal cages in all shapes, sizes, and materials over the years. This cage is for exotic birds, but we've built cages for all types of monkeys, chimps, gorillas, bears, and even seals.

Lake Calhoun City Apartments

This was a project that was a great ulitization of our design skills and fabricating prowess.

Pictured below is a large galvanized steel arbor situated in a outdoor common area.

We also did all of the outdoor balcony rails on each of the apartments, garden trellises, various railings and other miscellaneous metals on the property.

Custom Artsy Stairway

Having a CNC plasma cutter enables us to come up with any rail panel design imaginable. This stairway was for a seafood retailer in the Minneapolis area that wanted a stairway that matched the theme of their business. After several concept drawings this design was picked.

Wahkonsa Manor Renovation

This project really pushed us to our limits. Amongst the requirements were a need to be historically accurate because the site was a registered historical site, and the design/fabrication of an exterior fire escape. The project turned out beautifully.

Water Street Wrought Iron

New York City Bus Shelter Project

Over the past year we have been immersed in a major project with a company manufacturing multimedia bus shelters in New York City. Our part of the job is building the post that contains the sign and supports the entire structure.
